Little White Bike

Dress: Delia's
Vest and Sandals: Wet Seal
Bangles: Body Central
Earrings: Six

I adore this dress. I love the floral design, and how soft and floaty it is. Plus, it is the only high-low dress I have found that is not too long for my 5'1" body. I can even wear flat sandals with it! haha

However, what I really want to talk about in this post is the location these photos were shot in. This is the path I take my bike on once a week. If I turn left out of my driveway and continue straight for about 10 minutes this is what I come upon. It is so beautiful. And a few weeks ago I was riding and dandelion fluffs were blowing all over the road. I was literally riding through a cloud of dandelion puffs. (Sounds like a line from an Owl City or Mindy Gledhill song.)
My street is pretty suburban, so it's amazing to think that this place is only a short jaunt away. Cars rarely pass me, and I am left alone in complete thought. These bike rides are some of the most relaxing times during my weeks. I do bike partially for the work-out and fitness benefits of it, but I also do it to relax. Weird, huh? Normally working out isn't exactly "relaxing". But when I'm all alone, surrounded by nature, I find it quite easy to forget that my legs are working hard to keep me going.

I don't really know what my point is here. I guess I just wanted to share the beauty of God's creation that can be found everywhere. Because it is not like I live in a glorious, picturesque location. Yet I can still find these pockets of nature's beauty to revel in. And I'm sure you can as well, no matter where you might be. <3

Capris: the sort-of pants

T-shirt: Old Navy
Capris, Shoes: Thrifted
Ring, Hairbow: Forever 21
Scarf, Earrings, Sunglasses: Six

Wow, there are a lot of photos in today's post. And that's after narrowing it down! I'm not a capris person normally, but I had to go to work and it was WAY to hot to even consider jeans. x__x I was hot anyway since I was wearing a scarf (which I had to wear that day in order to promote the sale we were having on scarves). So yeah, I couldn't wear shorts, it was too hot for pants, so capris it was!

I really don't have much to write about today, but since there are quite a few pictures, I'll just let them be the spotlight of this post.

Changing Clothes, Changing Life

Dress, Belt, Necklaces, and Hat: Forever 21
Boots: Dailylook.com

Wow, practically everything included in this outfit is from Forever 21. haha But then again, I bought everything but the hat in the same shopping trip last year with the intention of it going together anyway.

It's funny to look at this outfit though. This white dress is one of my favorite things to wear, but about 6 years ago I wouldn't have dreamed of wearing white, and pink, and lace! From about the ages of 13-15, I went through sort of a scene, punk, goth phase. I wore mostly all black, red, and some neons. I wore black eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner, and studs and/or skulls on everything. But I guess I was at the age where I was adjusting to adolescence and trying to find my own style personality.
As of now, my style has done a complete 180. I adore pastels, lace, and floaty materials. Nautical themes are another one of my loves (so white, red, blue, stripes, anchors, etc.) It's so funny to think how much my style has changed. I still quite like things with a victorian goth or steampunk aesthetic but I wouldn't refer to my style as scene, emo or punk at all anymore.
I actually don't know what I would call it. It's just me, I guess. 'Cause as I look into my closet right now, I see a plaid mini-skirt, a floral circle skirt, a black skull and rose prink "kimono", the floaty white dress above, and a black dress with multi-colored lips printed on it (an extreme contrast to the white dress). And that is just to name a few garments.
My style is all over the place. I like to dress according to my mood and emotions, and since those are always fluctuating, my style has to as well!

That is just what was on my mind as I looked at these photos. It's always fascinating to see how your looks, style and personality changes over the years.

Garage Sale

Dress, Belt, and Flats: Sears
Necklace and Bracelet: Vintage

This past weekend my family had a garage sale. I wore this on Friday, the first day of the sale. I know it may seem a little dressy, but I dress up half the time anyway, and since strangers were going to be coming in and out of our driveway all day, I figured I'd look presentable. (Plus, this dress is actually super comfortable!)
As for the garage sale, we didn't do too bad. We got rid of a lot of large items that were just taking up space, such as an old rocking chair, 2 sets of tires, an old TV, and a huge box of my brother's old baseball cards. Then of course numerous small items were bought as well. I don't know know why, but I enjoy having garage sales. I get to sit outside with a cup of tea and people watch on my own property! haha The setting up and the tearing down is a lot of work I could do without, but it's really not so bad. My mom did a lot of the setting up herself, though, because I was so busy last week!

I'm helping her take it down today though, so I best get off the computer!

Dandelion Wishes

Dress: Dots
Maritime Wheel Necklace: Forever 21
Flats: Marshall's

This is a really simple outfit. A daisy patterned dress with flats is really all it is. But sometimes simple is nice when it comes to summer fashion. I love to just toss on a simple sundress when it's hot out. It's really comfortable to me and also looks really cute at the same time! And of course a beautiful day like the one pictured above also contributes to the overall attractiveness of one's outfit. ;)

My mom gets a cameo in this round of photos. She takes most of my pictures for me and is very rarely in photos herself. So I took the liberty of taking one while she was petting Ornery (our cat)!

I don't have a lot to say today. The interview at Kohl's went well I think. (I hope.) But they are conducting interviews all through this week as well. So it will be a little while until I hear anything one way or the other.  After thinking about it for a while, I realized I DO really hope I get the job at Kohl's. So let's keep our fingers crossed!
