Well, autumn, my favorite season, is officially coming to a close (says the piles of snow outside). So to commemorate another bittersweet autumn ending, I am uploading these fall photos. They were taken at the Algonquin Mill Festival this past October. Going to this autumn festival has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. It is by far one of my favorite traditions. I love the countryside and all the old fashioned crafts and food.
(The car photos were demanded by my dad. lol He just wanted the pictures of the cars. :p I was just an excuse to get them.)

Now, despite the fact that I love autumn dearly, I am very ready for the Christmas season. (Already started with the Christmas carols. ;) haha) Thanksgiving is this Thursday, and the next day marks another year of Black Friday antics! I'm really excited!
October through December marks my favorite part of the year~! We have my favorite season and BOTH my favorite holidays! I just get so giddy!

Oh, and on a completely unrelated note, somebody in the 12:30 Fabrics class dropped, so I nabbed their spot! I'm so happy! That means I don't have to go to evening classes FOUR days a week. Instead, just Monday and Wednesday. What can I say guys? It has been an amazing day!
So glad I got out of the funk from my last entry and was able to post something positive!

Homesick

Bambi Dress: Hot Topic
Scarf: Wet Seal
Boots: Charlotte Russe (You can only see part of 'em in the 3rd picture. Whoops.)
Lipstick: "Poisonberry" from Lime Crime

So I went home this past weekend. (I go home a lot of weekends, actually.) I got to hang out with my boyfriend and my girlfriends from home, which was great. <3
I miss home all the time. I mean, I love the people in my dorm. They're awesome. And I've done a lot of fun things on campus. But even after four months, I still miss my room, having my own space, and sleeping in my bed. I miss my cats. I miss my family. I don't know. I was just hoping that I'd be more immersed in college life by now. But I still don't really view it as my second "home". It's just school to me. Basically, I've been living life based on the next time I get to go home, which I know isn't good. I don't know HOW people from out of state do it. I only live 45 minutes away from campus, and this is how I feel. But then again, I'm not super outgoing, and I'm very attached to my home.
I'm  also very shy and kind of withdrawn, so it's hard for me to open up to people. Therefore, I don't hang out with people other than my roommate a great deal. I guess that's part of the reason I still get homesick. Home is my comfort zone, I guess.
But I know I have to get out of my comfort zone at some point.... That's why I chose to live in a dorm and not commute. Hopefully as time continues to go on I'll start to feel better about things.

Sorry for the downer post. I want to try and keep this blog positive, but sometimes I just get to thinking way too much. Guess I've just been down.
Like, I still need to figure out my spring schedule. One of my pretty important classes (Fashion Fabrics) is full save for one section, which conflicts with other commitments in my life. >.< So I've been really stressing.

I should probably work on my Fashion Tech project now. This is long enough as is. haha So I'll talk to you later, Interweb. Hopefully with something more positive.

For the first time: Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday!!
I decided that every Thursday I'm going to try and find either some old pictures of myself or take new pictures in something old. These pics happen to be both!
That dress is the dress I wore to Heart's Dance my sophomore year of high school. To this day it remains my second favorite formal/dance dress after the one I wore for my senior prom (to be seen in a future throwback).
However, these pictures weren't taken during my sophomore year. They were taken last October! haha They were part of my senior pictures.
Credits for the photos go to Christina Adam of Grace Designs Photography (http://gracedesignsphotography.com/)

I absolutely love the setting of these photos. So serene and peaceful. You can almost imagine the fair folk flitting just out of sight among the autumn trees.
Places like this are what solidify the fact that, despite my major, I don't want to live my life in a bustling big city. I prefer the serenity of the forest and the countryside.

I suppose that is all for tonight. In about 40 minutes I must schedule my spring semester classes, which is proving to be much more of a headache than I had anticipated.....

All Hallow's Eve in a Belated Fashion

I know Halloween is long over now, but since I didn't start this blog until yesterday (November 12th), I figured it was either share these pictures now or don't share them at all!
And I wanted to share them. heehee

Obviously I was a Dia de los Muertos sugar skull girl. I didn't realize until after I had started making my costume that I had chosen one of the most popular and clichéd costumes for Halloween 2013........Oops.
But that is beside the point. I just wanted to do the skull makeup to be honest. The costume in it's entirety didn't cost much either. I think I spent $25 in all, which isn't bad.
I LOVE Halloween. It's my favorite holiday along with Christmas. (I don't think you can compare those 2 holidays. They're so different. I mean, look what happened to Jack when he tried to have the two collide. xD)

For me, dressing up in costume is a time to become somebody else (and no, I don't an excuse to become a scantily clad nurse or dominatr......er.... policewoman). No, I mean it's a time you can feel free to be whoever you want, and not a soul will judge you for it. Because they're doing the same thing.
I believe we all want a little fantasy in our lives sometimes. Halloween, cosplaying, etc. They are all little ways to live in our fantasies.

So don't ever let insecurities stop you from dressing up. Live your own fantasy. And then..... it will carry over into every day of your life.

Introducing a girl named Bonnie

Hello. My name is Bonnie. This is me. And this is my belated story.

I've been wanting to make a blog for months, but kept putting it off because I didn't think anyone would be interested in what I have to say. But I can never get my voice heard if I don't speak. So this is me. Speaking.
I'm a freshman in college in the wonderful midwestern state, Ohio: the land of cows and corn. I'm majoring in fashion design. Fashion is my voice and my ultimate means of expression. It's more than clothes for me. Fashion is an identity.
It helps to form the core of who I am.

I have a Youtube channel under the name "Bondra Doll" that I started almost 2 years ago, so feel free to check that out if you feel so inclined. Bondra is my nickname (long story).
I do believe this is a sufficient introductory post. Perhaps a bit haphazard, but I could go on forever, and nobody wants to read a wall of text from a newbie.
Feel free to join me on this journey that is my life and my expression. Even if you choose not to, all love to you. <3
